‘Bright Bricks’ are coming back. In 2020 it was 800 years since the Cathedral and city were founded and these brick builders have plans for the construction of miniature replicas of historic buildings in Salisbury. JOIN IN. This will be quite something! All welcome.
If you can fit into a harness and climb a 24 foot high ‘rock’ (a replica of a Stonehenge monolith) and would like to see English Heritage’s experts with their Neolithic handling collection, this is the day for you!
Bring the children, and/or the grandchildren. Have lunch or tea in the Museum Cafe or picnic in the Close…. Who needs foreign holidays!
In the museum’s garden a tented kitchen will transport visitors back to the Iron Age where you can experience historical food and cooking. ”Pario Gallico” translates as ”The Gallic Cauldron” in Latin. These experts using authentic methods and tools will bring to life the smells, tastes and sounds of life in Britain over 2,500 years ago.

CURRENT EXHIBITION Richard Chopping: The Original Bond Artist On the eve of the release of the 25th Bond movie No Time to Die, The Salisbury Museum celebrates the life and work of writer, illustrator and teacher Richard Chopping (1917 – 2008).
Chopping was best-known for illustrating nine of Ian Fleming’s original James Bond book jackets, but the exhibition looks at his entire output, positioning his work for Fleming firmly within the context of his 40-year career, and with many works publicly displayed here for the first time.
